Windmill at Broa, Fårö island, Gotland, Sweden, Copyright Lifecruiser.com

Fårö island, where we are right now, has a lot of wonderful old windmills. This one in the photo above is the first sight you get when you get off the 6 minutes ferry ride from Fårösund at Gotland island to Broa at Fårö island.

I think that you can rent some of them as a vacation accommodation, but we’ve never tried it ourselves since we love to stay at the farm.

I wouldn’t mind staying over-night in one of these wind-mills, if they offered wi-fi and heating. :)

 Sounds I saw it last year in your pictures but I am not sure.
For sure it must be an experiment to sleep in it! Remembers me a song for children: Meunier tu dors Miller, you’re sleeping
Ton moulin va trop vite Your mill goes too fast
Meunier tu dors Miller, you’re sleeping
Ton moulin va trop fort! Your mill goes too strong!

I think those windmills were so charming. They have a lot of similar ones on Bornholm in Denmark, but which is right off the coast of Sweden. We are enjoying the Swedish summer as well  Hope you are making the best of it where you are!

I love windmills and light houses too. Box intrigue me.

What is the wheel device at the bottom? It looks as if it actually attached to the windmill. Nice photo, by the way…

Charming without doubt, but I hope they can be of better use than some nostalgic mnonuments.
May be modern Turbine technology can help make electristy for at least the owner—

    OK, we remember this Mill.

btw. We are heading south on Friday. Essen during the weekend,
then Issoudan for 2 days and then Vence for 2 days and then we will meet again in Marignan + +. For the 3rd year in a row. Hurray.
