Anyone that is curious of the Swedish wedding we went to Saturday? Good!

All went well, the preparations before the wedding and the whole day was wonderful just as only weddings can be :-)

The wedding ceremony was held in the Adolf Fredrik church in central Stockholm between Mr Lifecruisers niece Jenny and her girlfriend Petra.

As always on weddings, there were a lot of feelings and tears in the eyes. It’s really the most touching thing isn’t it?

…and they had so beautiful, heartwarming words in their promises even though I can’t recall them because I was so touched. *sobbing*

They also did sing a song to each other with the most wonderful, romantic text:

I admire them so for being able to perform like that when their throats were clogged with feelings… I’d never had made that myself. These are two amazingly strong women!

Then it was time to leave the church and the rice throwing ceremony, an old Swedish tradition to bring luck for the wedding couple.

There were a lot of hugs this day I tell you, everybody must hug them and wish them good luck with their marriage :-)

The wedding reception were hold in a restaurant in the neighborhood of the church, “En trappa Ner”, which means “One stair down” and it really is – with old cellar arches. We were welcomed with a drink before the wedding couple arrived there and the dinner started.

It is also tradition for the father to make a speech during the reception and everybody else that feels like saying something, but it’s often organized in advance by the choosen toastmaster who in this case were Petras mother and brother.

There were a lot of very touching speachs, different ones and even Mr Lifecruiser did his share on this :-) His speach were of the more humorous kind. He was standing too close to me, for me to take any picture of him though.

A very nice touch in this wedding reception were that there was a lot of singing. Even the brides did one performance each with a special song for the other loved one. They were so wonderful! How strong to manage all this.

There were many, many wedding gifts and I couldn’t photograph everyone, so I choosed one of ours, the red heartshaped plates. They also got money to sponsor their honeymoon trip to a Spa in Sweden they’ve choosen themselves – and so did almost every one because that was what they wanted.

These are two struggling, wonderful young ladys, working hard and studying hard to get their economy together. Their parents can be really, really proud of them :-)

We had an excellent dinner too, it may not show on those blurry pictures, butt the salmon were absolutely delicious! They also had the traditional wedding cake with the cutting of it.

I think it’s very nice with all those traditions, it’s making things even more special – or what do you say?

I’m so hungry after the wedding party – not that I didn’t get enough food, but because I did the “advanced dance-workout” and burnt a lot of calories… *giggles*

..not only that, you should see my poor toes full of blisters… I took a close up of them butt couldn’t post them, they are too awful! I can’t recognize my toes, they’re swollen and looks like sausages! *giggles*

As the matter of fact, I can hardly walk because of all the other…. hm… whispering: pains. Am I getting old? YES!!!!

Though I’m very proud over something one of the young wedding guests said to us:

“You’re so bloody cool, I think you’re so f*cking cool, you beat all the rest of the guests that’s here right now when it comes to having fun – despite the fact that you probably are the oldest of us!”

I think this might have something to do with the fact that I (as usual!) had to drag some persons up on the dance floor and enjoying themselves instead of sitting there watching the rest of us having fun….

It’s a totally different matter that I have to suffer of pains because of this a whole week afterwards…. *giggles* (Butt it’s still worth it!!!)

We only live one time. Take care of that and make it “a once in a life time experience” all of it!

…oh, and don’t forget to always make Love ;-)

This blog is too cool. I’m glad I found you.

I’m not much into weddings. I don’t mind bearing witness for friends and family who think enough of me to invite me.

Thanks for stopping in at my place Lifecruiser.

That was a nice wedding, just the way they do it here too unfortunately also with rice and then years after you still can find a corn. But the church would be impossible here. No priest ever would do that as homosexualtiy is still a sin for the catholic church. I am protestant too but I don’t know if they do it in Germany.
Thanks for the link to my toilets !

I never had this chance to research on the different kinds of weddings. All I know are Christian and Muslim weddings. So, what’s the difference of Jewish weddings from the rest? By the way, I want you to know that I love the slideshows! They’re marvelous!

Wow…nice couple there. Both are beautiful. We don’t and can’t have that sort of wedding in Malaysia. How I wish all the countries in the world are open minded enough to have this type of relationship.

Well, please help me send my heartiest congratulations to Jenny and Petra. May their love last forever :)

That is the very best wedding story I’ve ever red. In all it’s touching and in details describing and can assure you there was quite a few tear drops running from my eyes. The slide show was just great – almost like being there myself.
Ohhh how I wish this couple and long and prosperous life together. One can tell they have worked hard for this and it may not have been easy, but they made it and now they have each other – I wish in perfect harmony forever!

They really are a role model and this post should be a symbol of love and care and what is important in life: to do what you believe in and to do it your way!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful moment with us!
