We went out today (Thursday) to buy some socks and underwear to me and what do we come home with? No socks, no underwear and it took us about 6 hours… *giggles*

Instead we bought: Christmas gifts (yes, we suddenly realized that xmas is approaching), Christmas decorations, Christmas table cloths, 1 top to me from the golf store (no, I’m not going to play golf), new tooth brushes and a new Braun shaver (series 5).

…AND a navigator – or personal travel assistant as the call it: Garmin nüvi 760. I’ll tell you more about it later, when we’ve tested it.

So, now we’re ready to take a tour in Europe, don’t you think? I really wish we could just take off, right now. Suddenly I feel an urgent need of going somewhere….

When we were in Spain this spring, it would have been very handy to have had one. Especially when we were forced to drive the ring road in Barcelona at least twice or three times to come to the right road out of there!

This was our Christmas gifts to ourselves. Plus that we ate lunch out and had coffee too. I’ll not tell you what all this cost us….

No wonder we stay at home so much (when we’re not traveling), because every time we go out, we spend!

You sound just like us. We tend to spend too much too. Oh well, sometimes you just have to. Have a great day. :)

I can understand that you spend a lot when you go shopping. But why didn’t you buy the socks and underwear? :)

Glad you relied on your instinct rather than asking moi for driving directions while in Barcelona
Going out always means spending money, somehow…if not shopping then it is eating or drinking or both, lol.
    Have a wonderful weekend

@Ling: There were no underwear that fitted my strange body (lol) OR that were attractive enough. Too much strange colors, patterns or materials. I want it all :-) When it comes to socks, well, let’s just say that we got totally distracted…. *giggles*

    Ah, well….. that happens.

This year I was up in Washington and I rented a car and a Garmin Nuvi. It really saved me a lot of headache as I had to cover a large swath of land I”d never been to before. The 760 is a really good model. I came home and bought a lesser one –it’s still good, but not nearly as good as the 760.

As for Xmas presents, I’ve finished my shopping! We didn’t buy much this year, and since I tend to buy things on sale or discounted I go when the selection is good. So all I have to do is decorate once December 20 comes around!
