One of Stockholm’s most visible objects are the Nacka masts, situated by the lake Källtorpssjön at Hellasgården. The two FM/TV transmissions masts are 299 meter tall steel framework and are also functioning as a backup for the Kaknäs Tower.

The Nackamasts are heard and seen over an area of around 11 300 square kilometer, all signals are microwaves from the Kaknäs Tower where Teracom has a center for transmission of radio and tv. The signals to digital tv are transmitted with fiber from Kaknäs.

There has been an incident were a foreign business jetplane of the type Learjet 40 was close to fly into the masts, but managed to avoid it with 15 seconds marginal…
